- Develop electrical schematics and detailed panel layouts for extrusion control systems that comply with electrical standards (UL508A, NEC, NFPA-79).
- Attend project kick off meetings, review equipment specifications, and develop an engineering design plan for each assigned project.
- Design and develop schematics, detail drawings, assemblies, sub-assemblies, BOM's and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Select and size industrial control components for use within extrusion control systems.
- Work collaboratively with all engineering disciplines (software, electrical and mechanical) to ensure successful completion of projects that meet specifications.
- Work closely with the assembly team to identify and resolve any panel or electrical assembly issues.
- Provide input for overall control system development initiatives based on feedback from engineering, operations, and field service.
- Provide technical support to all departments during procurement, assembly, testing and final acceptance of equipment.
- Assist the technical documentation coordinator with the preparation of as-built drawings and associated BOM's.
- Modify existing schematic and panel layouts for control system retrofits on legacy equipment.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial electrical and controls experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Solid foundation and experience with design principles to develop control hardware for electromechanical systems.
- Knowledge of electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other drives and actuators, highly desirable.
- Knowledge of plastics process technology desirable, but not required.
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical standards including UL508A, NEC, and NFPA-79.
- UL 508A MTR certification is desirable.
- Experience with PC-based control hardware from Beckhoff is desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical component sizing and calculations.
- Ability to design and develop schematics and panel layouts utilizing AutoCAD Electrical (ACE) 2020 and/or AutoCAD 2020.
- Excellent technical communication skills, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Email.
