The Physical Sciences & Systems group in Newport, RI is seeking a summer research intern to assist in the investigation and development of new capabilities. Tasks may include developing or extending existing signal processing algorithms; collecting and analyzing field test data; and researching and implementing collaborative autonomy algorithms.The candidate should be a rising junior or senior student in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, applied mathematics, physics or similar relevant field. The candidate should have a wiliness to collaborate and develop new capabilities. Candidates must be creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated researchers who hit the ground running, can interact with customers, and have a willingness to write research proposals for government funding.What will you need? Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or other related engineering fields.Additional Skills that would be AWESOME/ BENEFICIAL Experience with software development (MATLAB, C/C, or Python) and expertise with underwater acoustics, data visualization, EO/IR imaging, or control theory for physical systems is strongly preferred.This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
