New England Safety Systems, Inc. is currently seeking 2-3 Low Voltage/Electrical Project Estimators/Managers to join our team to bid a variety of Large and Small commercial projects throughout Southern New England. These candidates would be responsible for collecting and analyzing information to estimate costs of product, service and installations for Fire Alarm, Security Alarm, CCTV, Gate Systems as well as Electrical systems.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Review all project documents
Consult with General Contractors as needed to determine scope of work
Identify new business opportunities and projects to bid
Attend pre-bid meetings to discuss project specifics required for bidding
Work with Vendors and suppliers for cost effective material pricing
Analyze and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Perform full quantity takeoff sheets on Fire/ Security/ CCTV Systems in accordance with project documents
Provide written proposals to the customers
Participate in bid closings
Participate in weekly job site meetings to oversee job flow
Follow up on past awarded jobs
Professional appearance and strong written and verbal communication skills required
Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
Knowledge of building codes including NFPA, NEC and OSHA
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire/Security Alarm/Electrical Estimating
Minimum 5 years’ working field experience in Fire/Security/Electrical trade
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
Strong Planning , analytical and computer skills
Strong knowledge of all commercial construction documentation including but not limited to Blueprints,
Specifications, Contracts and Change Orders
Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
Professional appearance and strong written and verbal communications skills required
