The Children's Workshop is looking for creative, positive and motivated individuals to join our team as Lead Teachers. Full time opportunities are coming up in all programs (Infants, Toddlers, PreSchool, and School Age) at all of our school locations (Central Falls, Pawtucket, Providence, Rumford, Warren). Work schedule is Monday-Friday with weekends off.

As the Lead Teacher, you will:

Create safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environments that encompass developmentally appropriate practices, establishes foundations for future growth, and engage children in building social skills and academic knowledge;

Develop and implement age appropriate curriculum and implement strategies in the classroom that support children to develop self-regulation, self-esteem, healthy coping mechanisms, self-comfort skills, and positive interactions with peers and adults in accordance with PBIS model;

Define, reinforce, and support age-appropriate expectations for children’s behavior using appropriate, positive techniques to guide children in the classroom;

Coordinate the daily activities of the Teacher Assistant.

Effectively and proactively communicate and provide feedback to parents/guardians.

Education, Licensure & Experience:

CDA or equivalent credential required; AA or BA Degree with at least 24 credits in child development or early childhood education, including core competency coursework in Child Growth and Development, Early Childhood Curriculum Development, Partnering with Families and Communities, and Child Observation and Assessment strongly preferred;

2+ years teaching in a group childcare or public preschool environment; and,

Completion of or ability to complete within one year of hire RIELDS Foundations plus either Developing a Standards-Based Curriculum or Implementing a Standards-Based Classroom.
