Contract/FULLTIME

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research, analyze caselaw, and draft legal memoranda and pleadings.
  • Conduct background research on parties and witnesses via public records searches, social media, and the internet, and report on same.
  • Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
  • Initial drafting of Answers, discovery requests and responses, pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and other pleadings.
  • Review, evaluate and summarize discovery documents including medical records, employment records, and other case material.
  • Draft subpoenas and monitor for compliance. Review and summarize documents received.
  • Compile motion packages for filing with the court.
  • Perform cite checking and proof reading of briefs and other legal documents.
  • Manage the document production processes of both hard and electronic documents.
  • Collect material from client, opposing parties, and third parties (hard copies, electronic data, physical evidence).
  • Assist at all phases of litigation including motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures.
  • Serve as liaison with clients including frequent personal interaction.
  • Research prior testimony and publications of opposing experts.
  • Research rules of procedure for relevant court venues throughout New England and assure adherence thereto.
  • Select, collate, and prepare binders of key documents during key litigation phases including depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Administratively manage all phases of a litigation case including litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • 5+ years litigation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
