Seeking professional caretaker to provide assistance to male patient, age 85 in compensation for free housing in Bristol RI (Not Prudence Is).
About Patient: He is physically relatively very strong, active and independent. He has been recently diagnosed with dementia, thus he is forgetful. He is no longer driving. He speakers both Portuguese and English and loves working outside in the summer, but hates the cold. He forgets to take his meds, (which are minimal) and gets lazy and does not want to eat. He goes out dancing with his girl friend, on the weekends and just getting out of the house even for quick rides to the store or park.
About House: 2500 sqft single level home with large deck, pool, and also in law apartment downstairs. Full 2 car garage and large manicured backyard abutting farmland with stonewall and privacy trees.
Caretaker Preferences: Male or Female, that can speak basic Portuguese, not for primarily communication but more for entertainment and familiarity. Non Portuguese speaking applicants will also be considered. CNA, Med-Tech, RN, EMT or other medical professional preferred. Valid driver license with personal vehicle required. No felony criminal convictions, all applicants will undergo background check. Ability to cook Portuguese food a bonus. Estimated level of care 3-4 hours per day.
