Summary

The Plant Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the implementation of transformation and execution of the Worthington Business System within our West Warwick, RI facility.

The plant manufactures a wide variety of popular products and continues to grow. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for co-developing, coordinating, enabling, and executing the transformation strategy within Operational and Supply Chain within the facility.

Additionally, The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for Lean training, bench strength, and building a culture of continuous improvement at the facility.

This Individual will need to have a strong partnership with individual Operations Managers and local Transformation talent to help improve the overall efficiencies within the facility.

This role will have one direct report which is a local Plant Transformation Lead / Analyst. The Transformation process runs smoothly throughout Worthington Industries and has support from the local plant leadership team as well as corporate support.

Responsibilities

Create, analyze, and evaluate value stream maps, metrics, and strategic goals to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities within facility

Partner with Operations Managers and facility leadership team to build and maintain an aggressive improvement plan

Support and integrate facility strategies and initiatives with action plans and targets

Identify, manage, and develop Transformation talent within facility on lean tools

Desired Experience

Lean understanding with demonstrated ability to apply lean tools with guidance, anticipate resistance, and respectfully challenge inefficient solutions within own facility

Recognized as a go-to for problem solving help

Demonstrated ability to effectively lead kaizens and succinctly describe problems

Strong verbal communications and ability to influence without authority

Ability collaborate with multiple teams in parallel

Ability to prioritize and execute the transformation strategy at a medium-large plant

Demonstrated ability to encourage or promote a transformational mindset within the facility

General understanding of the business and how transformation integrates into larger picture to achieve company objectives

Education

Bachelors or equivalent in Other
