Job DescriptionAre you an Engineer who is seeking an opportunity to showcase your experience in implementing a proactive preventive and predictive maintenance program? Do you have experience managing small capital projects, conducting root cause analysis, and developing strategies to improve asset integrity? If so, read on… We’re hiring a Plant Engineer for our Aiken, SC manufacturing site where we mine and process kaolin clay. As the Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining all plant equipment in a manner that allows production to maximize its usage by updating and monitoring effective preventive and predictive maintenance techniques. There may be minimal overtime (nights, weekend) required to address ad-hoc issues. Responsibilities
Manage capital and maintenance projects. Responsibilities include, safety, scope development, planning/scheduling, engineering, procurement, budgeting, field construction management and start-up.
Provide Technical support as needed to the maintenance department in solving routine maintenance issues.
Evaluate and implement improvements through MOC (Management of Change) and capital processes.
Provide input into and operate within site’s maintenance budget.
Lead root cause analysis studies to identify sources of failures and downtime, and associated CA/PA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action) follow-up activities.
Develop and implement equipment demolition and removal strategy.
Develop/update drawings as needed.
Evaluate and implement improvements to mechanical integrity inspection, testing, and PM programs. Develop and monitor reliability metrics to drive improvements.
Coordinate activities to be completed by Maintenance and contract personnel.
Physical Requirements and Environment
Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing plant.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment (leading and participating).
Ability to analyze data and translate into making decisions and executing solutions.
Proficient in an ERP, SAP highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of maintenance and/or capital project management experience.
Experience with SAP’s Maintenance Management module.
