Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is hiring part-time staff for the after school program. The ideal candidate will be a caring, compassionate, competent and committed individual. This is a great role for Education majors, individuals who have worked in the education, camp and child-care fields. At minimum candidates MUST have a high school diploma. Experience working with children is preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Working with students from K3-8th grade (the students are divided into smaller groupings: K3-K5, 1st&2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade and 6th-8th grade.)
-Interact in a POSITIVE manner with students, parents, teachers and co-workers
-Assisting with homework
-Playing games (both active and non-active games)
-Spend time inside/outdoors
-Greeting parents as they pick up their children
-Help organize and implement special activities
-Assist in setting up and preparing for students arrival each day
-Clean and organize the classrooms at the end of each day
-When working with kindergarten age students, staff is responsible for completing 15 hours of online continuing education courses (paid for by the school) by the end of each calendar year
Pay rate is based on experience
We will conduct background screening, reference checks and provide you with additional training (ALL persons hired must complete First aid, CPR and AED training as well as Safe Haven online training).
