Estimates will be derived from both design-build and design-bid-build scenarios.
We are looking for an Estimator to join our home office in Charleston, SC. The successful candidate is a construction professional capable of taking ownership and leading in the preparation of a complete estimate or proposal. The aspiring applicant will be adept at identifying risk and opportunities while focusing on developing a winning strategy.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of thorough, accurate and timely estimates.
Assist in the development of written proposals for value type pursuits.
Gather site and market information pertinent to bid preparation.
Identify and submit bid RFIs to the owner or applicable representative in order to fully understand the finished intent.
Manage material take-off and quantity surveying.
Work with the Administration Group to ensure bid bond, insurance and document review requirements are met.
Develop safe, high quality approaches to construction via the developed project estimate.
Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data.
Lead estimate turnover process on successfully bid projects in conjunction with assigned project manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a commercial estimator.
Demonstrated leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills are requisite.
Ability to estimate multiple projects at the same time with proven time management skills. The ability to work independently or as a member of a team. A strong work ethic to complete tasks at a level of high quality.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of all applicable codes and requirements.
Digital takeoff experience.
Desirables:
USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certificate
Previous experience with hospital/medical/dental construction projects
