Job DescriptionResponsible for the identification of relevant new business opportunities and designs "go-to-market" plan to deliver measurable and significant revenues. Pursues sales opportunities in the market, and carries the baton in the beginning of the sales cycle.A Business Development Representative is assigned to strategic accounts which may be grouped by industry where Oracle has a limited presence. Acts as primary liaison between Consulting, Sales, and Oracle Development for the product's sales opportunities. Generates business opportunities through prospecting mass market programs and leveraging third party partners. Develops and coordinates a worldwide relationship with customers that establishes Oracle as a preferred vendor and optimizes Oracle's sales of product. Executes aggressive strategies and plans to successfully drive the product as the preferred customer selection. Provides account representatives with information on how the product addresses specific needs, and assists account representatives in using Oracle's products to leverage large revenue opportunities. Assists in articulating product message, coordinates technical resources and hands off deals to a successful close.Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 12+ years of progressively increased responsibilities in sales or sales management. Marketing and business development experience preferred. Proven track record in managing multiple opportunities and ability to negotiate and close complex deals. Ability to determine strategy and tactical plans that deliver tangible results. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to Travel as needed. Primary focus will be the development and delivery of strategic sales artifacts/programs across the LOB. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of cloud fluency, sales acumen, Retail industry knowledge (preferred) and/or awareness and strong analytical and interpersonal skills .The candidate will work directly with the sales management and reps on individual, strategic opportunities to help optimize the probability of timely deal closure – ensuring the quality and accuracy of internal and customer facing artifacts.The individual will also help develop programs designed to increase pipeline across Retail Enterprise accounts . Once developed and deployed, the individual will provide real-time guidance in helping the sales teams to execute and optimize to the desired outcomes.We’re looking for a strategist leader who possesses a deep knowledge of the industry and will exhibit a high degree of credibility with Oracle sales management and the senior IT leadership within the customer base.Responsibilities include:Engaging with, and becoming an integral team member of the Enterprise Retail team to contribute to the growth strategies from the BD perspective

Analyze the data and gather input from the sales leadership team to build the required BD plan and customized programs to accelerate the growth

Partner with DemandGen team to grow the qualified pipeline

Ensure the best BD strategies to increase New OCI logos and OCI penetration

Partner with License and HW peers to mobilize ONE Oracle mindset across all sellers

Be the change agent to enable the Retail reps to become more industry aware

Assisting in the development and delivery of customer facing presentation decks and financial models; working with sales teams to articulate and optimize cloud value propositions.

Meeting with customers to help articulate Oracle’s strategic value proposition and key differentiators.

Identify opportunities to expand sales pipeline

Generate artifacts designed to help the drive newly identified pipeline expansion opportunities

The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with cloud architects/engineers, program managers, Oracle Consulting and PartnersDetailed QualificationsIn-depth Retail industry expertise and knowledge

Strong cloud proficiency that will earn credibility with both internal and external customers

An in-depth understanding of Oracle’s cloud and licensing sales processes

Proven attention to detail to ensure accurate and esthetically pleasing sales artifacts

Overlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the sales force.Partners with Account, Technology, and Application sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representative’s territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years applicable experience preferred. Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed.
