This role will bring insight, innovation, and opportunities to Anthem provider partners using their extensive value based care experience.Essential functions:

Provide clinical leadership in planning, design, development, and implementation of value based care models including those addressing primary care, specialty and ancillary care, inpatient facilities, and pharmacy services.

Represent Anthem externally with key stakeholders including providers, clients, media, and market thought leaders.

Serve as member of the leadership team for Provider Alignment Solutions

Lead, build, and grow relationships with practicing providers and administrative leaders to achieve an effective population health approach and successful cost and quality of care outcomes.

Analyze, synthesize and create action plans based on data, observations, and discussions with provider partners.

Inform and influence the Care Delivery Transformation and Provider Enablement Team in collaboration with the Staff Vice President to achieve the clinical consultative structure which enables provider success.

Provides expertise, captures and shares best practices across regions to provider partners as well as Anthem medical directors.

Engages with providers in joint operating committees and builds relationships with clinical leadership in provider collaboration groups.

Influences and partners with local market medical and financial leadership to ensure appropriate level of focus on performance of providers in the program.

Drives strategies around cost of care and analytic tools and reporting.

M.D. or D.O.

Board certification approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties required where applicable to duties being performed.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in leading physician engagement, clinical strategy, and clinical transformation as it relates to value based care innovation.

Demonstrated experience with network development and relationships where collaboration across stakeholders was required to support value based care payment models.

Requires active, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.

Requires minimum 10 years medical practice experience after completing residency-training requirements for board eligibility.

Proficient in presenting technical and strategic information to multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders.

Masters preferred (MBA, MHA or equivalent degree); CPE or equivalent physician leadership training acceptable.

Approximately 30% travel required.
