Island Realty is hiring a Maintenance Runner to join our team on the Isle of Palms. If you are a maintenance professional interested in working in the dynamic world of vacation rental property management, we encourage you to apply.

The Maintenance Runner is responsible for ensuring that Island Realty Vacation Rental homes meet company standards for arriving vacation rental guests and vacation rental homeowners. The Maintenance Runner contributes to the successful day to day operations of the Isle Fix It (IFI) department.

Hours required: Weekend availability necessary, workdays vary; hours between 8:30 am and 7:00 pm.

Responsibilities and Duties

-Respond to all maintenance issues/requests as directed by office staff

-Evaluate maintenance needs to determine if a repair can be made by an in-house technician or if an outside vendor is necessary to resolve the issue

-Deliver, retrieve, and track all company loaner items, included but not limited to refrigerators, window unit air conditioners, televisions, etc.

-Replace light bulbs, air filters, install locks/doorknobs, move furniture, troubleshoot cable and internet issues, and other basic home maintenance tasks as needed

-Keep shop and work space clean and organized at all times

-Take and keep inventory of shop supplies and report to office when low

-Close work orders as completed in the field to ensure prompt billing by office staff

-Maintain a professional, customer service oriented demeanor while interacting with guests, owners, and other employees

-Provide general maintenance information for guests and owners in the field

-Resolve guest or owner issues with great care and effectiveness

-Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications-Education and Experience:

-High school diploma required

-General carpentry, electrical, appliance repair, and/or plumbing work experience preferred

-Hospitality experience preferred but not required

Minimum Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Excellent verbal communication skills

-Strong organizational skills

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

-Computer literacy and proficiency in various software and applications preferred

-Must be able to troubleshoot modem/router issues

-Must be able to communicate (written and verbal) with friendly and pleasant tone

-Must be a team player with a positive, upbeat personality

-Must be a self-starter who can see a project/issue/problem through to completion and follow up as needed

-Must have reliable transportation
