Family Law Paralegal

Family Law firm is seeking an experienced paralegal in the Mt. Pleasant office to perform paralegal, secretarial, and administrative duties.

Skills

Position requires a great attitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong technological skills to include: research using internet; ability to electronically organize and manipulate documents; ability to effectively manage deadlines and calendars; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Clio experience a plus. Extensive Excel experience essential.

Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and take proper precautions to protect information electronically and physically.

Strong organization and prioritization skills.

Heavy administrative work.

Ability to professionally and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Handle simultaneous projects, effectively multi-tasking and remaining flexible to last-minute changes.

Work in a team environment while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.

Work independently with appropriate discretion to complete projects/assignments as directed.

Detail-oriented.

Ability to quickly and accurately transcribe dictated documents, with attention to detail.

Administrative skills, including ordering of supplies, maintaining accurate administrative records.

Computer knowledge is essential.

Open, organize all files.

Draft correspondence, forms, and other documents as directed.

Verify client information on Financial Declarations and other financial documents.

Interact and schedule consultations with prospective clients via telephone and email.

Interact with clients and counsel as necessary to perform assigned duties for attorney.

Miscellaneous projects.

Assist and anticipate necessary documents for hearings and assist attorney in preparing for hearings.

Any other duties as required.

Education/Experience

Bachelor Degree a plus, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience.

2 + years of relevant legal experience for necessary litigation knowledge.

Clio experience preferred.
