CLOUD TRANISITION PLANNING CONSULTANT (NIWC-21-0134-W) Bowhead seeks a Cloud Transition Planning Consultant to support the upcoming NAVWAR - NIWC Cloud Transition and Modernization Technical Support contract located in North Charleston, SC. The Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) provides design, acquisition, and sustainment services for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), United States Marine Corps (USMC), US Navy, and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Information Technology (IT) systems. The recent focus has been on: the assessment of the current system architectures; identifying the steps necessary to secure these systems; developing and deploying solutions into a commercial cloud production environment; as a technical cloud broker offer cloud services to these IT systems; provide enterprise IT services, data hosting, lifecycle planning and sustainment support; enterprise networking services (Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Base Area Network (BAN) connectivity; expeditionary communications services; garrison communications infrastructure; and logistics lifecycle planning and sustainment for expeditionary forces worldwide. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Assist with the configuration of multiple GIS Cloud servers and services. • Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) techniques. • Implement Cloud server patches as required. • Troubleshoot Cloud server and service issues. • Configure, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Cloud server security strategies, policies, and procedures. • Monitor and analyze Cloud server and service usage. • Generate regular billing reports and other ad hoc reports as required. • Provide and implement recommendations on server and service configuration changes and operational procedures to increase efficiency. • Administrate and assist Cloud users. • Document service configuration and configuration procedures.

Requirements • BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant technical degree. • Six to ten (6-10) years of relevant experience supporting DoD efforts to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support. • Three to five (3-5) years in support of the Marine Corps/Navy/DoD network infrastructure, networking, server virtualization, object-oriented programming, software development, software configuration, software installation, or cloud transition, and cyber security. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
