Subject Matter Specialist II (MCESS-21-1375-F): Bowhead seeks a Subject Matter Specialist to support the Navy on the MCESS contract in Charleston, SC. The Subject Matter Specialist will develop projects from inception to conclusion in relation to this contract. Additional Duties: • Monitor the configuration of the custom database application by serving as liaison between Software Developers and NIWC to meet MCESS requirements. • Maintain a document tracking all issues within a custom database application in regards to desired features and requirements of the MCESS program, update progress statuses of these issues, facilitate and record mitigation thereof. • Oversee the QA process of data collection from the sites by supporting the technicians in the review of site inventories, recording and vetting any potential content issues, and reformatting the inventories to the database upload template making the data suitable for upload into the database. • Ensure data integrity of the inventory collection template content utilized by the field technicians by maintaining the master file copy, updating as needed with any changes, additions, or deletions to inventory pick-list selections and other content reported to be required by the technicians or sustainment team. • Import assets into custom database application and service requests to test features and functionality, noting any deficiencies or "bugs", as part of the test phase of development. • Make any required changes in custom database application that are customizable such as creating custom fields, changing workflows, adding manufacturers or asset types, and facility categories specific to the program requirements. • Attend all status check meetings and Project Management Reviews as required. • May plan layout and installation of new system or modification of existing systems. Requirements • BA/S or Masters degree preferred; five to eight years (5-8) years of professional experience. • General understanding of database systems. • Familiar with inventory management systems. • Experience training new users of software systems is preferred. • Detail oriented; ability to perform quality assurance tasks. • Have high organizational and time-management skills. • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Have good interpersonal and social skills and the ability to work closely with various leadership levels to accomplish mission. • Have intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and GANTT programs. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain an active security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
