installation on public roads, highways, and other similar driving

This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the
OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5700 -
Transportation/Mobile Equipment Group. Although a specific length of
time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions,
you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through
experience and training that you possess the quality level of
knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position
at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements
emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length
of time.The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the
work of a Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal
supervision.JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis
of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in
the following areas:
1. Knowledge of and skill in operating general purpose vehicles and
buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers or other vehicles
with a GVW of more than 10,000 and up to 26,000 pounds.
2. Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices, and
procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operation (buses).
3. Knowledge of passenger safety rules including those regarding the
use of seatbelts.
4. Ability to communicate orally, and be courteous and responsive to
the needs of the passengers.
5. Ability to judge road/traffic conditions and read installation
and local road maps to determine the shortest and safest route.
6. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. related
to motor vehicle operation (buses), preventive maintenance, and
passenger safety.
7. Reliability and dependability to arrive at stops within
prescribed time frames and to meet pickup and delivery deadlines.PHYSICAL EFFORT
Physical effort is moderate. Work requires reaching, turning, or
moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot
controls. Associated duties require stooping, bending, and climbing.
Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier
objects with assistance.WORKING CONDITIONS
Drivers will be issued and required to wear individual safety
equipment, i.e., steel toe boots, work gloves, and reflective belts.
Drivers work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all kinds of
weather primarily on the installation. Drivers are exposed to dirt,
fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as
a result of accidents when loading and unloading the vehicle.PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for
appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify
the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total
number of hours per week.VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience,

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires agencies to
treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and
