Job ResponsibilitiesThese positions are located in Charleston County within the Guardian ad Litem Office of the SC Department of Children's Advocacy. There are 3 positions currently available and by applying to this posting you will be considered for all three. Under limited supervision, the incumbent is responsible for case management, face-to-face visits, court preparation, and court attendance for cases in which there is no Guardian ad Litem appointed. The incumbent will complete monthly monitoring reports and input data into database, while supporting functions necessary for effective volunteer advocacy and assisting with recruitment efforts and volunteer training sessions as caseload decreases.Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with the Department of Social Services, Family Court, and other child serving agencies, while operating in accordance with the best practices and policies of the GAL program. Handles special projects as assigned. Performs other duties as required.Minimum and Additional RequirementsA bachelor's degree and relevant program, volunteer management, or child welfare experience.Additional Requirements: Knowledge of applicable laws and procedures pertaining to child welfare. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and data entry. Requires regular attendance to statewide staff and regional meetings, as well as evening training. Requires frequent statewide travel. Position may require overnight travel, working evenings and/or weekends, and routine driver duties. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Must have valid South Carolina driver's license.
