Job Description

The Product Manager, Compact Hydraulics NA role is tasked with growing sales and profits through the development of product strategies, road maps, and programs for direct customers and sales channel partners. Additionally, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop intimate knowledge of the compact hydraulics market (e.g., market share, technology trends, competitive landscape)
  • Identify market potential by customer and application jointly with Sales team members
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to provide a premier customer experience including supervision of key customer projects from proposal to start-of-production
  • Develop, implement, and monitor pricing strategy to maximize both sales and profit. Includes managing discount schedules, special pricing agreements, and price adjustments.
  • Devise and implement solutions to improve present product line offerings and business processes.
  • Provide technical product support to sales team members and sales channel partnerson the advantages and features of our product portfolio and solutions capabilities
  • Develop marketing plan to achieve short- and long-term sales targets
  • Proactively seek customer visits together with sales team members
  • Develop and deliver presentations to customers and distributors
  • Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Other majors will be considered along with work experience.
  • 3-5 year’s work experience as a Sales Engineer or Product Manager for a technical portfolio
  • Experience withall MS Office applications and experience with CRM and ERP software
  • 30% Travel Required annually - mostly domestic, but can include international travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited institution (e.g., CHEA, ABET)
  • Strong business development and sales acumen
  • A strong mechanical aptitude to conceptualize product application, function, and solutions
  • General knowledge of hydraulic principles, components, and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to observe, evaluate and diagnose market trends and competitor developments
  • Ability to supervise, set priorities, and provide direction of work assignments to a team
