Summary
Responsible for the management and oversight of the areas of Data Center Operations, Tape Library, , Network, Monitoring and Data Storage Administration within a multi-customer Host computer processing environment. Provides leadership and direction to staff to meet needs and deadlines ensuring timely processing, customer satisfaction, enterprise-wide effectiveness, and efficiencies of data center technology systems. Develops, implements, and maintains ISO-based standards and procedures. Consults with management, staff, and the user community to ensure the successful scheduling, execution, and performance of multiple on-line systems.Oversees the deployment, implementation, and configuration of IT infrastructure in the data center complex. Description- Responsible for recruiting and hiring, coaching, and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, and addressing all disciplinary issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for managing employees in a computer processing infrastructure environment (Data Center Operations, Tape Library, and Network, Monitoring Data Storage Administration).
- Communicates with customers to understand the customer's vision, needs and requirements.
- Maintains adequate hardware resources on the floor to support existing and future business.
- Participates in various internal and external audits.
- Responsible for ensuring proper prioritization of workloads for multiple customers and facilitates cross-over communications between shifts.
- Conducts facility tours to prospective customers, management, internal BCBSSC staff, and local colleges/technical institutions/community service organizations.
- Bachelor's degree - Any Major
- 7 years of job related IT experience.
- Prior team lead, supervisor, or management experience OR equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.
- Prior experience providing oversight using monitoring tools such as, Splunk, EMM, Ops View, etc.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Demonstrated self-starter.
- Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Demonstrated flexibility for adapting to both changing business and client needs, and a changing technical environment.
- Strong technical knowledge base in related area.
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent and effective communication, customer service and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information with understanding to a variety of audiences who have different levels of experience and knowledge
- Ability to support and be on call for a 365 x 24 x 7 environment
- Knowledge of Data Center best practices, techniques, design principles, and technical platforms.
- Experience with federally sponsored audits and security standards
- Knowledge of Service Now
- Knowledge and experience in multiple project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.) and their associated tools (JIRA, KANBAN, etc.)
