Manager Instructional DesignDescriptionPurpose of the positionThis position focuses on leading a team of Instructional Designers to expedient conception & development of innovative learning strategies in print, blended, and multimedia solutions for learning & development purposes.Core tasks and responsibilities

Monitors the performance of KPIs, mentors, and coaches a team of 7 professionals in the Instructional Design group to be a high performing team

Works to design visually appealing interactive products that are performant in achieving learning outcomes

Works with Connections Academy learners, families, and teachers to understand needs & opportunities to improve the learner experience through instructional design

Works with Content Frameworks to inform instructional design standards that will drive the achievement of learning outcomes and the best in class learning experience

Reviews systems requirements and business processes; tests, debugs and implements content architecture software solutions.

Understands the capabilities/limitations of the available authoring and development tools to help inform design solutions and drive requirements for future authoring and development tools & capabilities for the application of instructional strategies

Translate storyboard contents (audio narration, image assets, and action notes) into a properly executed multimedia build using the prescribed authoring tool

Stays current on latest advancements in multi-media art technology

Negotiates internally at senior levels within Curriculum regarding important issues within instructional design

Works with Content Frameworks in analyzing item, behavioral, and learner analytics to determine characteristics of performant instructional strategies

Leads through providing technical direction across the business, or through a team, impacts the achievement of substantial projects, operational or customer objectives

Provides technical guidance to colleagues or customers

Demonstrates depth and/ or breadth of expertise in own specialized field and provides expertise to various Curriculum stakeholders

Has knowledge of best practices within own area of specialism and how it integrates with related areas of the business

Begins to develop relationships with senior leaders across the organization, customers and suppliers

Bachelor's degree or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).

Minimum 5 years instructional design experience, including experience developing digital products

Experience in a leadership role developing and delivering software-based curriculum for a global audience.

Experience managing wholly remote teams required

Mac skills and software should include the entire Adobe CC suite, including Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photos

Experience with project management in a multi-disciplined and commercial environment

Basic HTML and web skills essential

Thorough understanding of information architecture principles and practices

Knowledge of Microsoft and Google business applications preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Educational Management Systems, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is preferred.

Familiarity with SAFe Agile principles
