Meridian is hiring a Mainframe Developer for their Columbia, SC location.
Hybrid schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday onsite)
The Mainframe Developer will be working on the core commercial (non-government) claims systems conducting analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of business requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
Minimum of 6 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
Experience with COBOL, DB2, mainframe.
Must be able to work well under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills/team building.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees across IT.
Must show initiative and a desire to learn and grow within the team on the assignments given.
Must have good verbal and written skills.
Must be able to follow directions, adapt to changing requirements, and show initiative in learning and growing with the team.
NOT looking for: Entry-level candidates with less than 6 years of application development experience need not apply. Skills that are used solely in server-based technologies such as web development or systems infrastructure are not needed.
Contract: 12 months
