Cloud Architect

• Serve as a technical thought leader and SME for our public cloud ecosystem across the State of South Carolina and will plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy enhancements to our Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud IaaS and PaaS solutions and provides knowledge transfer to team members. Works directly with Technical teams, customers, vendors and executive leadership to determine Cloud requirements, analyze business impact, ROI and sustainability. Ensures Cloud architecture meets the service delivery needs of the Division of Technology Operations. Ensures proper integration of state security standards for all Cloud systems.

• Public Cloud infrastructure expertise: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Terraform.
• Ability to integrate Cloud/ DevOps platforms with third party tools.
• Experience with AWS Governance and Best Practices (IAM, Organizations, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.).
• Experience of Azure Governance and Best Practices (RBAC, Azure AD, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of automation tools, including configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) and infrastructure provisioning (AWS CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or Terraform)
• Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell / CLI).

• Expertise in Terraform infrastructure as code, understanding of scaling technologies and solutions, experience with AWS or other clouds, familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container platforms, security, penetration testing and threat detection tools, and experience wServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, and/or Aviatrix.
• Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment.
• Experience with Linux and Windows system administration.
• Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions, including enterprise directories, on-premises hosting platforms (vSphere/Hyper-V), and datacenter storage and networking.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and 8+ years of technical architecture experience and relevant hands-on engineering.
• Work experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.
