Job Summary

This position will be responsible for coordinating all maintenance planning and scheduling activities, to include developing and completing work packages, work plans on selected plant equipment, preparing preventive maintenance work orders and maintaining records of activities. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the Work Management System (Maximo); maintaining historical databases to reflect corrective, predictive and preventive maintenance performed on equipment and systems, and coordinating with internal and external suppliers. This position will communicate with all levels of the organization to include working effectively with the craft organization and management teams. This position will provide leadership for improving the planning, scheduling and work execution functions.

This position shall focus primarily on the Mechanical Maintenance department. The planner shall work directly with the Mechanical Supervisor and plant crafts daily to efficiently plan and schedule work. This position shall also be responsible for maintaining the proper financial accounting for work orders.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum of five years of experience in Maintenance/Operations in a power plant or industrial environment. Mechanical maintenance background is strongly preferred.Technical certifications or Associates degrees in related disciplines with previous experiences in planning, scheduling and an understanding of work planning activities are a plus.Power Plant Experience and/or corrective/predictive maintenance background is a plus. Experience as a project leader for major maintenance or capital projects is desired in this role.

Must be able to work independently and as a team; must beknowledgeable of maintenance disciplines and operational processes; understands value of work planning and structure to productivity, open to new ideas of work management and process improvement; good oral, written communication and human relations skills; strong computer skills with good understanding of current work management system (Maximo); overtime, call-out work and occasional travel will be required in this position. Must be able to demonstrate ability to ensure safe work practices, procedures, and environmental criteria and guidelines are planned into all station tasks and work plans. Must be able to demonstrate ability to elevate issues & areas where there are process gaps in a positive manner.

Competency inMS Excel, MS Word, Maximo, Scheduling software (such as PASTA or MS Project) ispreferred.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Working Conditions

This position is located at Wateree Station in Eastover, SC. This is a 685 MW coal fired power plant in Eastover, SC. This position requires both administrative office work and working in the field.
