We are seeking an Automation & Process Delivery Project Manager to partner with cross-functional teams through influence to ensure successful deployment of Operations Technology solutions to our factories and distribution centers. The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to support the successful delivery of key technologies to realize value for the businesses and sustainability for continued innovation and improvement. All members of the Automation & Process Delivery team share responsibility for influencing leaders and stakeholders across the organization to garner their support for successful project co-creation and implementation. The Project Manager will work closely with delivery leads, operational owners, and execution teams with in his/her facility to ensure transformational work is aligned with overall strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery and implementation of automation at the Stanley Black & Decker sites by coordinating plans, activities, and tasks required for a successful implementation and production start of equipment:
    • Manage, coordinate, and facilitate multiple re-engineering and process improvement initiatives related to enhancement of systems and processes
    • Assist with the development of project proposals and project objectives
    • Coordinate efforts of cross-functional project team including assigned resources form functional areas as needed to meet project objectives
    • Establish and achieve financial objectives by preparing a project budget, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions
    • Control project plan by approving specification and plan changes, assign responsibilities
    • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Progressively elaborate high-level information into detailed plans throughout the project lifecycle as it relates to packaging automation, assembly automation, and vertical integration.
  • Drive lean culture and support the implementation of SPS Lean I4.0 tools, standards and processes at the sites.
  • In partnership with Workforce Readiness team, help identify skill gaps, and support deployment of training to the plants to allow for development of lean-led, data-driven, tech-enabled sites and workforce.
  • Participate in facility leadership meetings to monitor progress to the strategic plan:
    • Align and support Program Manager in redirecting activities and resources as needed to improve production and quality, facilitate cost out of the business, and improve sustainability of new technologies.
    • Drive accountability on follow-up activities.
  • Support sharing of best practices as result of internal and external benchmarking activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsTo excel in this role, the successful candidate must possess, by virtue of career accomplishments and experience, the following demonstrated competencies:

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Required Experience:
  • At least 3 years of project management experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a distribution center/manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing
