Job Summary:

The Sr. IT Project Manager will work directly with the business, project, and technical teams and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the strategic projects from feasibility to closure as assigned. This will include (but not limited to) performing feasibility analysis, overseeing project planning, managing project scope, ensuring effective monitoring and controlling of project execution, and following the PMO governances. The ideal candidate will also possess the following: the ability to manage several initiatives simultaneously, have strong collaboration skills, and the ability to champion the use of technology for critical business needs. Because this role is interactive with our internal business customers, the candidate must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and exhibit a customer-service oriented approach to working with stakeholders. The ideal candidate must also be able to work autonomously with little oversight, be driven, and show initiative.

Job Responsibilities:

-Project Management: Overall responsibility for the following general project lifecycle activities:

-Project Feasibility and Scoping: Performs feasibility analysis, scopes projects, and is responsible for the development of detailed project plans to ensure activities are understood and commitment is gained to meet overall project objectives.

-Project Requirements and Design: Ensures detailed Business Requirement Documentation (BRD) is in place, and approved, by business stakeholders so that it may be translated it into functional specifications by the IT Delivery teams.

-Project Execution: Implements solutions by monitoring project progress and navigating stakeholder change; tracking action items; conducting design and implementation reviews; examining, researching, and resolving issues; escalating issues to appropriate authority; responding to team members' concerns, and submitting project status reports to the project team, IT PMO, and CIO bi-monthly.

-Project Quality: Assures quality of solutions by assisting with creation of test plans and strategy; maintaining project and technical documentation; identifying work process improvements; meeting cost standards by monitoring expenses; and implementing cost-saving actions when/where appropriate.

-Backup role to the Director of the IT Project Management Office (as needed): As a senior leader in the IT Department, this role may occasionally be required to assist the Director of the IT Project Management Office in the following way: understand how portfolio reporting is created and managed; fill in for the Director at senior leadership meetings; serve CIO as needed in the absence of the Director; and will be required to develop proficiency in the IT PPM (portfolio/project management) tool - Clarizen.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree.

-3+ years of progressive experience managing medium-to-large scale IT projects involving various technologies and project teams in a corporate office or support center environment, consulting firm, or other established private or public company.

-2+ years of experience participating in a medium-to-large scale IT Project Management Office is preferred, but not required.

-Experience developing complex project plans to meet business objectives

-Experience building and developing project teams

-Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management functions

-Proficient in project management software, such as MS Project, MS SharePoint, and Clarizen PPM Tool (preferred, but not required)

-Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio

-Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

-Experience using Balsamiq (rapid wireframing tool) preferred, but not required

-PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification strongly preferred
