Coordinates the production of or revisions to the Emergency Operations Plans (EOP) to include but not limited to execuating training, exercises & after action processes for hospital staff, coordinating hazmat decon operations, emergency communication systems & processes. Assists Director in tracking & coordinating grant funding, implements The Joint Commission standards applicabile to emergency management, represents St. Francis Hospital, Inc. at local & regional Emergeny Management (EM) venues as assigned. Is familiar with healthcare emergency design & management, National Incident Management System (NIMS) incident command & related hospital operations & community & regional emergency response procedures.JOB REQUIREMENTS

Administers, evaluates, and updates the health system’s Emergency Management Program (EMP). Establishes and monitors performance objectives for the EMP in collaboration with the Emergency Management Committee.

Ensures the health system is in compliance with the JC, NFPA, OSHA, EPA and DHEC as well as any other relevant standards and regulations relative to the EMP

Plans, coordinates, and implements exercises, drills, classes, and training for staff and volunteers, and with outside agencies and other community partners relative to the EMP.

Coordinates the activities of the Emergency Management Committee.

Coordinates and consults with Department Managers regarding emergency preparedness issues in their respective areas and notifies management staff regarding opportunities for improvement

Has ability to teach and conduct training. Coordinates, trains and exercises the hospital system DECON teams, their equipment and competency

Serves in an advisory capacity to interpret OSHA, EPA, and NFPA emergency management standards, codes, and regulations

Makes recommendations for corrections and follow up to ensure that violations have been corrected

Analyzes hazards and develops the health system’s Hazard Vulnerability Analysis

Develops policies, plans and procedures in support of the EMP

Attends the meetings and consults with the DHEC Office of Public Health Preparedness concerning health system emergency operations and response planning

Acts as member of the Hospital Command Center in whatever appropriate role as assigned by the Incident Commander during an emergency or any major event organized by the health system incident command system
