Apply NowBeaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority is looking for: MECHANIC I or II Responsible for performing preventive maintenance & repairs on all fleet vehicles & equipment including tractors, trailers, generators, excavators, & pumps. Assists Fleet Supervisor in maintaining all required records of maintenance work, and repair information, etc. Orders parts & helps maintain inventory. Requirements: H.S. diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational/technical school program in auto/truck mechanics, and a minimum of 2 to 4 yrs experience dealing with auto/truck repair and maintenance, small engines and hydraulics, or an equivalent combination of education & experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, & abilities. License in welding preferred for Mechanic II. Must possess or obtain within 1 yr of hire certification in at least 3 mechanical areas by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in a core area such as engines, preventive maintenance, HVAC and brakes for Mechanic II, and at least 2 mechanical areas by ASE in a core area for Mechanic I. Ability to read, write, & perform basic math. Verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills & experience. Must possess a valid driver's license, and obtain a Class A CDL w/tanker endorsement within 1 yr of hire.
