This position will:

Provide proactive legal advice and support for Humana’s Medicaid line of business;

Advise on relevant federal and state Medicaid laws, CMS regulations, anti-kickback laws, the False Claims Act, and other health care fraud and abuse laws;

Provide counsel on regulatory and contract compliance and business transactions;

Support interaction with government agencies, including responding to inquiries and audits; and

Collaborate and consult with leaders throughout the company in order to ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and protection against external risk.

Role Essentials

Juris Doctorate, with licensing in at least one state

3-6 years of experience in health law at a law firm or in-house health care organization

Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills

Ability to work both independently under general supervision and within a team

Ability to work in complex organization with diverse clients at all levels of the company

Role Desirables

Demonstrated knowledge of the Medicaid program, preferably across multiple states.
