Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionPURPOSE: This position’s primary function is to receive, unload, and locate incoming materials for quality inspection.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Material Movement:

Responsible for checking and receiving all incoming material.

Handle both inbound and outbound UPS and FedEx shipments.

Utilize pallet location system in the receiving and shipping warehouses.

Correctly apply FIFO to all inventories.

Correctly apply all Hazardous materials procedures.

Responsible for placing materials in the proper locations.

Gauge inventory levels on bulk chemical tanks and distribute reports on a timely basis.

Maintain good housekeeping practices.

Check incoming pallets against move tickets for accuracy. Correct all discrepancies found.

Re-stack pallets according to customer requirements.

Wrap and label pallets for shipping or warehouse storage.

Load racks with finished goods and accurately record location.

Load trucks with finished goods in preparation for shipping without damaging finished goods.

Place all pallets that are not staged for shipping or immediate usage, in the racks for storage at the end of each shift.

Prioritize shipments with the correct carrier.

Schedule carrier movements.

Maintain warehouse organization, safety, and cleanliness.Documentation:

Maintain correct and up-to-date receiving files.

Correctly prepare material move tickets for submission to data entry.

Accurately maintain the storehouse filing system on materials.

Handle and process storehouse requisitions.

Follow all requirements for receiving/shipping hazardous materials.

Maintain logs on Alcohol as required by ATF.

Create the following documents: pallet manifest, custom’s manifest, pack list, pack slips, bill of lading, certifications, domestic/international documents, and other necessary documents/reports.

Adjust the pack list or move tickets in case of discrepancy.

Confirm the accuracy of all documentation.

E-mail/fax/deliver communications regarding shipments and storage of goods.

Appropriately file and maintain information regarding inventory and shipping of finished goods.Systems:

Utilize employed systems to check and record inventory.

Receive incoming product into raw material.

Receive product moves into finished goods.

Lookup and review orders and inventory.

Commit finished goods to orders.

Enter all required information into various systems.

Assure the accuracy of entered information.

Maintain balance of/between systems.All other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Forklift certification.

Must be able to communicate clearly at all levels and maintain confidentiality.

High School graduate or GED with two years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent.

Beginner level of computer skills.

Must possess the ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements. THE FOLLOWING ARE PREFERRED:

Intermediate software and systems skills.

More than two years shipping/receiving experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; use hands or arms (to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls). The employee is occasionally required to stand; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

Must be able to frequently lift and move 100 pounds or less. Also, must be able to maneuver drums of 750 pounds with manual equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The employee occasionally works in high places; in outside weather conditions and with toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate to loud.

The Personal Protective Equipment required to perform this job safely includes safety glasses and appropriate shoes. The employee would occasionally use a face shield, hard hat, or ear plugs.
