Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a EHS Technician.The hours for this role is 7am-3pmThe hourly rate for this position is $25/hour per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:In this position you will: Assist with the implementation of the Management of Environmental, Safety, and Health (MESH) program to promote zero incident EHS culture and assure regulatory and Eaton compliance. Lead EHS engagement activities such as the safety committee, go green initiatives, emergency response teams and/or the MESH champions program. Contribute to risk reduction efforts through incident investigations, corporate stand downs, lessons learned corrective actions, Prepare and present EHS content for tier meetings, trainings, all-employee meetings, and corporate stand downs. Assist in preparation for 3rd party assessments, audits, and/or certifications. Support the completion of annual MESH activities: workstation risk assessment completion, self-assessment, Site Level Risk Assessment, safety and environmental operating reviews. Interact with front-line employees and supervision to respond to EHS observations and concerns to perform assessments and implement corrective actions. Perform routine inspections on EHS related equipment (oxygen sensors, fire extinguishers, etc.).Qualifications:Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in an EHS related role or 4 years of progressing EHS responsibilities. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. No relocation is being offered with this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the North Charleston, SC facility.Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment working in a EHS or safety related role. Advance level EHS trainings or certifications such as Train-the-Trainer (First Aid, Forklift, etc.), Competent Person (Confined Space, Fall Protection, RCRA/DOT, etc.). Environmental Health and Safety certifications such as OHST, SMS, ASP. Experience with compliance relating to environmental, health, and safety Understanding of lean manufacturing practices and OSHA regulations Proven track record of safety metric performance and improvementSkills:Position Criteria: Understanding of basic EHS principles and tools, including but not limited to safe work practices, risk analysis, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills. Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to site-level leadership. Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
