Find your future with us.The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Production Engineering Organization is seeking Entry level Liaison Engineers to support the 787 Program at the Boeing South Carolina Facility . The Liaison Engineer (LE) or official name of Product Review Engineer is a “Jack of all trades”. There is no limit to what areas of engineering you may be involved with. In this position you will have the opportunity to be in a fast-paced, hands on the airplane every day environment and interface with all the different engineering functions associated with designing and building an aerospace product. In addition the LE interfaces with the production side of the process on a daily basis to help resolve issues with the manufacturing and assembly of the airplane.Position Overview:The LE will develop Material Review Board certified repairs that restore the service life capability of the airplane as well as be involved in process improvements such as design and tooling changes to create a better quality product and improve the efficiency of the production process. Boeing South Carolina is one of the few production facilities that covers the entire build of an airplane. "Freezer to Flight", from raw materials to handing over the “keys” to the purchasing customer.We are looking for proactive individuals who can make quick engineering decisions and who want to go beyond their desk and into the factory for hands on engineering. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, partnering closely with production personnel.Candidates may need to work variable shifts; and can be assigned to first, second, or third shift as well as weekend or daily overtime in addition to holidays as required to support the production facility. This requirement varies at each support position on site and is typically covered on a rotation basis if needed.This position involves daily exposure on site to a hands on factory environment which includes access to entering airplanes during their many stages of build.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Position Responsibilities:Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer

Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoots to understand root cause

Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances.

Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements

Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment

Participates in, but not limited to:Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)

Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment

Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards

Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree or higher in: Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Material Science Engineering

Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in an engineering discipline.

Experience working in a cross functional environment and/or business unit teams

Material Review Board Certification experience or similar Liaison Engineering experience.

Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience

Production engineering experience

Relevant technological knowledge

Excellent problem solving skills

Ability to lead, work independently and in a team environment

Typical Education / Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering (e.g. Bachelor) and related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
