Job ResponsibilitiesThis position is located at the Seneca DMV.The Assistant Branch Supervisor I is an entry-level management position designed to assist the Branch Office Supervisor and Assistant Branch Supervisor II (where applicable) with duties including but not limited to the day-to-day operations of a branch office. Duties will include assisting the manager with select or designated personnel matters, inventory, implementation of agency policies and procedures, as well as provide frontline leadership and ensure customer inquiries are handled in a professional and timely manner in accordance with defined goals and processes. The ABS-I will complete agency reporting and performance analysis as required by management.Job Functions:

Serves as manager-in-training capable of performing the duties assigned to Branch Office Supervisors and Assistant Branch Supervisor II's, including but not limited to the ability to direct, plan and coordinate the activities necessary for the day-to-day office operation of a branch office.

Performs and assists with audits of offices and associated entities operating under the agency's enforcement areas. Will be capable of holding office meetings and conducting training on behalf of office management to advise staff on new and existing policies and procedures.

Maintains inventory of office supplies and prepares requisitions. Prepares inventories of all accountable items, monthly and quarterly reports.

Guides subordinate employees on DMV policy and procedures.

Examines, accepts, prepares, enters, and prints all documents required in issuing driver licenses beginner permits, and identification cards for all classes; original, renewal, duplicate, transfers, temporary and replacement vehicle registrations, license plates, permits, and/or titles. This includes requests for repossessed, abandoned, salvaged, homemade and rebuilt vehicles. Performs edits of the customer name and address fields. Processes Motor Voter Registration requests. Researches suspension inquiries, modifies driver record status, and clears suspensions. Processes international Registration plan registration credentials and issues automobile dealership licenses. Administers knowledge tests for all classes to include CDL.

Answers customer inquiries pertaining to driver, vehicle, registration, titling and insurance requirements by phone and in-person. Greets and directs customers to appropriate areas of the office.

Collects all required fees and donations for the Gift of Life Trust Fund. Reconciles and prepares individual daily report and refund request documents. Computes vehicle sales taxes and makes weight adjustments to the vehicle record file. Other duties as may be required by manager.

The person holding this position may be required to relocate to an office within 30 miles of their home office if business needs require. This move cannot exceed 30 miles from the current office.Minimum and Additional RequirementsA high school diploma and related experience. Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger prints prior to being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests. Before being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests must complete a formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination that includes Introduction to CDL Licensing System, Overview of the CDL Tests and Knowledge Tests.Knowledge of DMV laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to learn and explain all vehicle and driver policies and procedures to DMV customers and employees. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing. Proficient in basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Proficient in Phoenix. Capable of performing management duties as outlined by Branch Office Manager.The Administrative Assistant/Assistant Branch Supervisor I reports to the Branch Office Supervisor and assists the manager with the day to day operations of the Branch Office after a period of training.Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application. The work may require sitting for prolonged periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal, or constant movement up and down as required to handle the needs of the customers.Must attend required training.Training will consist of (10) days in Blythewood and continue at a Centralized Training Site (which may not necessarily be at the location where you have been assigned) for an additional four (4) weeks. An employee that scores below 80% on the weighted average of all assessments will be terminated from their position for failure to successfully complete the training requirements.After completing the 10-day training course in Blythewood, your training should continue at a centralized site, which may not necessarily be at the location where you have been assigned. After processing 40 Driver transactions, you will be assessed on your ability to process Driver transactions. After processing 60 Vehicle transactions, you will be assessed on your ability to process Vehicle transactions. An employee that scores below 80% on the weighted average of both assessments should be terminated from their position for failure to successfully complete the training requirement and/or probationary period. Assistant branch Supervisor I's must also attend a five (5) day training at the DMV Headquarters in Blythewood. All Assistant Branch Supervisor I's must successfully complete four assessments with a score of 80% or better on each assessment.
