Job ResponsibilitiesThe person in this position will perform database installation, configuration, setup, monitoring, tuning, and administration. Administer enterprise-level database environments in SQL Server, using SSQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), DBCC commands, Dynamic Management Views (DMV's) and other tools. Proactively monitor, support, and manage database utilization. Provide support, maintenance, trouble-shooting, upgrades, patches, and new releases, using SCDE methodology, to the ongoing project. Apply security and access authorization to servers and databases. Design and implement backup plans, including nightly and periodic backups during the days. Administer and monitor backup and restore procedures. Participate in restoration of databases and disaster recovery processes as necessary. Schedule, monitor, and analyze Data Collection processes, ensuring that data is received and processed without error. Use additional software tools to support data collection and report on processes. Develop SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS) processes and T-SQL procedures for importing, validating, converting, cleansing, and transferring and storing data. Apply security measures and data masking/anonymization to protect sensitive data. Design, develop, and implement database architecture and schemas for handling, and reporting data. Adhere to best practices in regard to normalization, structure, indexing, performance tuning, security, configuration and reporting. Work with the Office of Research and Data Analysis and other groups to promote data and processes through development, testing and production environments, using software controls for versioning, releases, change control, and source code management. Handles other projects as required. This position is located in the Division of Data, Technology, and Agency Operations, Office of Research and Data Analysis.Minimum and Additional RequirementsA bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field and experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support or the support of complex database management systems.
