Job ResponsibilitiesCareers at DHEC: Work that makes a difference!Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, and Embracing Service Assesses the health of clients and provides direct care for patients at risk or with complex medical needs; refers appropriately; develops and revises plans of care based on protocols and/or standing orders; documents care provided accurately, succinctly and per agency policy; teaches, counsels and monitors the treatment regimen as needed.Precepts the Preventive Health Registered Nurses including clinical consultation, provision of medical orders and evaluation of staff competencies; coordinates, monitors and evaluates clinical orientation to Integrated Preventive Health Services for RNs and APRNs.Serves as Lead APRN for the region. Supervises regional APRNs providing direct patient care. Plans, implements and evaluates clinical orientation and continuing education; monitors and evaluates standards for clinical practice and staff competencies.Participates in disaster preparedness during hazardous weather or declaration of emergency as outlined in the DHEC Emergency plans.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum and Additional RequirementsState Minimum Requirements:Positions in this classification requires licensure as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require a valid driver's license. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with clinical experience.Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Agency Additional Requirements:Masters Degree in Nursing
