Technology (IT) Support Services Team in the Network Operations and Security
Center (NOSC) of the US Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) Communications
Directorate (A6). This opportunity places you at the tip of the spear for Engineering,
Operations and Maintenance, Cyber Security, and Defensive Cyber Operations
supporting the warfighter in the Southwest Asia area.USAFCENT is the air component
of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a regional unified command.
USAFCENT, in concert with its coalition, joint and interagency partners,
delivers decisive air and space power on behalf of USCENTCOM for the security
and stability of the Southwest Asia (SWA) region. The USAFCENT NOSC delivers
cyberspace command and control (C2) superiority to the warfighter by
engineering, implementing, securing, managing, operating and maintaining
USAFCENT’s Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret
Internet Protocol Router (SIPRNet), USCENTCOM Partner Networks (CPN-X), and associated
C2 networks, systems and services.The USAFCENT NOSC executes the
full-spectrum of IT services management and operations for USAFCENT networks 24
hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week (24/7); and is tasked by USCENTCOM to provide
information assurance (IA) boundary intrusion detection and intrusion
prevention for USCENTCOM components. Comprised of NOSC operations, operations
support, cybersecurity, network engineering, and command support functions, the
USAFCENT NOSC plans, engineers, installs, integrates, operates and maintains,
protects and manages enterprise-wide network and systems architecture,
infrastructure and services; and provides enterprise-level oversight to its
subordinate and supported communications support activities.Candidates will be working at
Shaw AFB, SC and/or Lackland AFB, TX. Frequent temporary duty (TDY) and/or
deployment travel to OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR is required to
support sustainment, site surveys, installations, upgrades, integration,
testing, troubleshooting and other mission-related requirements.The candidate for this
position provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate
scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of
the variety of factors through frequent use and application of technical
standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques, and directs
established guidelines, procedures and policies.Unified Collaboration
Architecture & Design Engineering:
Ensures the efforts of the deployment project managers,infrastructure management and systems management and engineering teams
Directs and manages efforts of telecomtechnicians, workloads
Stays apprised of all inter and intraorganizational projects and issues in EUE
Ensures internal processes and procedures aredocumented and updated
Ensures that all OLA’s for all relevantprocesses are created and maintained
Develops and conducts employee performancereviews and monitors progress towards objectives quarterly and provides updatesand revisions as required
Responsible for telephone port allocations
Provides interface to Customer on high levelissues or requests
Oversees day to day resolution of systemproblems and root cause analysis
Ensures documentation of entire Telecom Networkand infrastructure
Ensures the Change Management Process is beingfollowed
Collaborates with LAN/WAN organizations oncurrent and future network configurations
Provides management and serves as an escalationpoint for the deployment and infrastructure staffs
Provides guidance to staff and monitorsperformance
Provides monthly reporting on open project,outstanding issues and staff performance
Works special projects as assigned by manager
Ensures that Telecom Equipment Tracking systemis updated with all relevant changes as modifications are completed
Builds efficient relationships with interfaceorganizations (i.e., CREF, Site Support, ITO)
Ensures that the staff meets the establishedSLAs
Monitors ticketing queues
Ensures system backups and preventativemaintenance occur on a scheduled basis
Ensures maintenance vendors are performing tothe contract
Oversees troubleshooting and resolution ensuringescalation in a timely fashion
Provides and keeps current detaileddocumentation of processes.
Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Engineer, design and implement UnifiedCommunications/Collaboration voice network, systems and services (e.g., CiscoUnified Communications Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Cisco Unity Connection &Unity Express, Dial Plans, Calling Search Spaces and Partitions, Call AdmissionControl).
Identify and troubleshoot VoIP QoS issues, andrecommend and implement mitigation strategies.
Troubleshoot escalated issues to identify andrepair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, Voice.
Comprise Implementation knowledge of QoS and[CAC], troubleshooting complex network regarding call routing and gateways.
Analyze a myriad of networking metrics andrecognize sub-par network performance.
Develop reports and trend analysis documentationon bandwidth and network security incidents.
Possess strong interpersonal skills andsufficient mastery of the IT profession to act as an on-shift trainingrepresentative for both contractors and government personnel to include CiscoSwitches and Routers, and hardware troubleshooting disciplines; who has a solidworking knowledge of basic LAN technologies and OS used on deployed networks.
QualificationsBachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of additional experience is required. In addition to the following certifications and skills are required: Security + CE or CCNA-Sec, VCA, MCP – Server, CCNP or higher, Firewall, and ITIL Foundation.Desired QualificationsITIL 4 Foundation certification or any ITIL v3 Intermediate certification.
