RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIESThe Regional Vice President of Sales – Hospital Sales Executive will lead a team of 50+ direct and indirect employees, including directors, and Territory Management Sr Consultants.

Responsible for driving growth of Cardinal Product growth inside and outside of channel, Distribution Management and Services portfolio, and Performance Plus, withportfolio stakeholders.

Responsible for driving sales for Exclusive Product line sellingIncontinence, Exam Gloves, Infection Control, Wound Care, Fluid Managementto the Acute Care marketplace inside and outside of channel in the assigned region, as well as increasing business within existing accounts. Works collaboratively with marketing and enterprise contracting on regional prime account opportunities.

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Cardinal Health and customer industry, including: key competitors, terminology, technology, trends, challenges, reimbursement and government regulation; demonstrates advanced knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings impact customers

Work directly with HSE RDs that are responsible for regions to implement priorities, programs and focus growth of Category Management.

Strong focus on sales, account planning discipline and process, continuous improvement and strategic development of business model.

Reviews all deals for strategy and qualification as part of account planning.

Fosters and supports a culture of effective teamwork, accountability and development.

Builds and expands profitable business partnerships with C Suite relationships (CEO, CFO) by actively participating in executive industry groups and remaining abreast of industry trends

Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of customer's successes, challenges, and strategic objectives; draws from experience and significant financial acumen to recognize and provide advice regarding potential opportunities and risks

Proactively seeks out and fosters strategic partnerships with key influencers at multiple levels in the client organization and within Cardinal Health; takes swift and decisive action to address any concerns or obstacles

Works collaboratively to leverage capabilities of cross functional business partners including marketing, manufacturing, compliance, quality, and legal

Leverages expertise and broad knowledge of multiple business units/partners to execute the Solutions Sales Process; guides efforts and coordinates Cardinal Health resources to creatively integrate and position collaborative solutions cross-system and cross-functionally to provide maximum value to customers and Cardinal Health; shares value message with executive sponsor(s) to attain agreement

Draws on knowledge of executive sponsors' strategic business priorities to communicate a broad vision for partnering with Cardinal Health; obtains support and executes on solutions by leveraging direct and indirect relationships and demonstrating the value of integrated, multi-faceted solutions; influences executive sponsors around the staging of solutions and costs of delay

Preferred ExperienceBusiness Expertise:

Experience with healthcare industry required

Communicate and lead a significant change in go to market strategy

Experience with Supply Chain

Industry connectivity, expertise and network

Market insights and competitive landscape

Lead at least one business unit or enterprise-wide project

Cross-functional experience, varying in scope and size (i.e., Distribution Management, Sales, etc.)

Lead a regional sales meeting and/or presentation

Lead in a regulated environment

Build and grow a new sales / supply chain channel within a complex company environment

Financial Management:

Develop strategy and plan to meet a challenging margin improvement goal

Participate in major merger, acquisition, divestiture or integration effort

Lead / Partner in compensation plan design

Influence price/margin strategy

Execute a major cost reduction strategy that meets goals within timeframe

Leadership:

Lead a major change within the organization and mobilize the organization to embrace change

Network and followership beyond current area of responsibility

Executive leadership engagement

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in business or healthcare; MBA degree preferred

10+ years healthcare sales experience preferably in Medical products and devices

Proven leadership capabilities, including ability to manage diverse personalities/skill sets in a changing environment

Excellent planning, forecasting, negotiation and presentation skills required

Ability to travel 50% of time
