Job Description

I. Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of complex duties in final wiring of all types of electric boxes and controls having a good working knowledge of electronics.
  • Works in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Works from wiring diagrams, prototypes, models or verbal instructions.
  • Make final wiring installations of sub-assemblies on machines.
  • Make conversions to existing electrical systems in a neat and orderly manner using necessary tools and test wiring arrangements.

II. Basic Qualifications

A.

Education

    • Use fairly complicated instructions or drawings, test equipment and a trade knowledge of the installation of electrical components and wiring equivalent to 2 years high school plus 2-3 years trades training or 4 years high school.

B.

Experience

    • Exceeds all requirements of the basic electrical assembler position with over one year training in the assembler position or similar industry environment.

C.

Other Requirements

    • Requires the ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations where standard operation methods are available. Make general decisions in implementing engineering wiring instructions.

III.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lays out work sequence using material lists and blueprints.
  • Prepares converted electric boxes and control and makes final wiring installation to machines as required using such components parts as relays, terminal blocks, transformers and switches.
  • Connects, solders various wires to complex circuit according to wiring diagrams, prototypes, models or oral instructions, using such tools as electric drills, wire cutters, soldering iron, pliers, wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Maintain good housekeeping habits at all times.
  • Conducts job performance in a safe manner.
  • Must be tested for color blindness.
  • Learn to test cables on circuit analyzer
  • Learn to test electrical cabinet.

A.

Education or Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Technical course completion of basic electrical application

B.

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
    • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
