Facility: Surgical Tower Location: Sioux Falls, SD Address: 1500 W 22nd St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105, USA Shift: Evening Job Schedule: Full time Weekly Hours: 40. 00 Salary Range: $15. 00 - $19.50 Department Details The sterile processing department at Sanford is responsible to pick all clean supplies for each surgery, and to clean, & sterilize all surgical instruments. In this department you wear surgical scrubs so please come to work in your sweatpants and change into scrubs! You are never required to work outside your shift hours, but overtime is often available. Our department has room for growth with 6 different levels of responsibility and pay. Set schedule of day hours, 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday only. No call! Job Summary As a Sterile Processing Technician you will be preparing, cleaning, processing, and storing supplies and surgical instruments for patient care. We will train you on all policies and procedures needed for this position. In this role we supply your work attire and offer a favorable schedule as well as many levels of career growth within the department. To succeed as a Sterile Processing Technician you should have an understanding of medical terminology, customer service, and good communication skills. Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring all patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed and reprocessed in a timely manner
- Follows all standard operating procedures
- Understands and demonstrates all policies and infection prevention and control guidelines
- Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors and follow-up according to procedure or management instruction
- Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in workflow
- Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use
