Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal - Litigation/B&TTracking Code173503-105Job DescriptionBallard Spahr LLP has an excellent opportunity for a legal administrative assistant/paralegal with demonstrated litigation, technical and administrative skills to work in the Sioux Falls office. The selected individual will support attorneys in the Litigation and Business and Transactions practice groups by maintaining and processing case information, managing the progression of cases to final disposition, creating electronic files, preparing and processing correspondence, memoranda and complex legal documents, e-filings, and performing other administrative functions.Responsibilities include preparing documents for state and federal court filings, including discovery requests and responses, letters, pleadings, motions and documents, as well as e-filing in various state and federal courts, both trial and appellate. Administrative duties include scheduling meetings and appointments, maintaining attorney calendars and contact information, new client intake, file maintenance utilizing the firm's electronic records management system, billing, and travel coordination and expense reimbursement.Required SkillsQualified applicants will be highly motivated, possess strong communication, organizational, and client service skills and be able to multi-task and work in a team-oriented environment. Top-notch accuracy, spelling, grammar and prooing skills are necessary. The ability to multi-task and work co-operatively in a team environment to meet deadlines is required. A willingness to take innovative approaches to administrative support is a plus.Required ExperienceThis position requires a minimum of 3 years of general litigation experience and a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
