The Senior Accountant is a newly created role that will be responsible for maintaining CarHop’s accounting and reporting. Additionally, it will help guide CarHop in improving our accounting practices, reducing the company’s risk and ensuring industry best practices. The position reports to the CFO.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for monthly close, annual audit, state filings and state audits.

Must be available to close on the 1st of the month, regardless of day of the week.

Complete monthly payables entries (e.g. credit cards, taxes, rent, etc.).

Maintain general ledger and subledgers for accuracy. Ensure accounting is compliant with state and federal requirements in addition to GAAP principals.

Run weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for operations, compliance, 3rd parties and government agencies. Review and ensure accuracy before reporting.

Report monthly results to the credit bureaus.

Act as backup for daily cash reconciliation and payroll.

Proactively identify and work on areas for improvement and risk within the organization.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree

2+ years of experience in public or industry accounting.

Ability to work independently on a small team.

History of improving process to increase productivity and reduce risk.

Continuously works on improving your own work. Takes and gives feedback in a positive fashion.

Willingness to work from one of our locations in a hybrid fashion.
