Job Description

As a Control & Instrumentation Projects Specialist, you will provide guidance to engineering to ensure proper deliverables during the front-end stages, as well as an acceptable final product.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the approval of engineering designs and provide specialist engineering input
  • Analyse alignment of engineering designs with Anglo American Group specifications
  • Conduct audits of the quality and constructability of engineering designs and determine whether designs are in line with project scopes
  • Support assessment of contractor compliance to the engineering-related clauses of contracts and support the interrogation of designs by consultants for all disciplines

This role is at our Johannesburg Corporate Office, at aBand 6 level reporting to theHead of SIB Execution.

Qualifications

  • B.Eng. Degree (Electronic or Electrical engineering and or equivalent Control & Instrumentation qualification
  • Registered as Professional Engineer with ECSA

Experience:

  • 10 years' experience as a Control & Instrumentation engineer and/ Electrical Engineer
  • 5 years’ experience as an engineer involved in projects within the mining industry
  • Understanding and knowledge of project management fundamentals
  • Must have advanced levels of proficiency in developing and implementing integrated solutions to maximize value and ensure productivity
  • Proficient in the practical application of the Operating Model such as workflows, configurations and routines
