Job Description

The Internal Commercial Account Manager is responsible to execute against Palo Alto Networks sales strategy focusing on the mid-market and new/existing commercial accounts. This role will require regular contact with a large array of existing and potential customers. You will be responsible for ensuring their needs are identified and met by selling appropriate Palo Alto Networks products and services.

In addition, you will be responsible for leveraging & nurturing existing and new partnerships with VAR’s and MSSP’s to strengthen the sales engagement and uncover additional opportunities.

Your Impact

  • Work closely with the partner account management team to drive commercial initiatives through their VAR’s and MSSP’s catering to the mid-market subset of customers.

  • Develop appropriate promotional plans consistent with the company-wide sales and marketing objectives.

  • Support the existing commercial/territory AM’s in creating recurring pipe and identifying new opportunities to win new logos or drive loyalty for our brand within partners.

  • Liaise and engage with distributors to ensure they have all necessary quoting/operational support relating to any commercial/mid market promotions and programs.

  • Cultivate a strong relationship with technical resources & teams within our business to increase the value of sales propositions to market and individual opportunities.

  • Proactively prospect for new business opportunities, up-sell to existing customers (displacement and new product sales) within a broad set of commercial accounts

  • Exceed quarterly and annual sales/bookings targets and maximize short term revenue

  • Ensure a laser focus on pipeline at all times in terms of the generation of future opportunities and the maintenance of existing opportunities in pipe.

  • Update/maintain SFDC records pertaining to SMB customers.

  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to date relating to commercial market trends, news, announcements.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Palo Alto Networks products, processes and promotions to provide the highest levels of sales support inward and outward.

  • Work with marketing to drive campaigns into the commercial market

  • Work with distribution to drive an ecosystem of strategic distribution managed partners that add significant value to the Palo Alto Networks commercial GTM

  • Support the Head of Distribution & Commercial GTM A/NZ in any and all commercial GTM initiatives to drive a strong ‘low touch, no touch’ partner selling motion via distribution.

Qualifications

  • Sales related experience in either a face to face or phone-based environment

  • Self-Aware with excellent speaking/ listening skills and ability to engage prospects over the phone

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and hunter mindset - willing to take intelligent risks

  • Tech Savvy Mindset able to work with a methodological and organized approach

  • An absolute team player with the ability to engage with and work across multiple teams

  • Evidence that you are a Top Producer in previous roles

  • A sharp focus on your goals and a belief that your daily, weekly and monthly activities will help you achieve them
