ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support and apply knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff. Tasks/support roles may include the following:
Tracking of TMDE and interfacing with PMEL to address equipment calibration/maintenance needs
Inventory management of component and expendable stock
Ensuring all systems and supporting subsystems are functional & operational prior to a test series
Instrumenting of test articles per engineering design
Wind tunnel preparations prior to and during a test series, including configuration changes
Operation and monitoring of vacuum pumps
Test article installation and instrumentation routing to a functional DAQ system
Operation of wind tunnel and/or supporting subsystems during a test
Post‐test operations such as equipment/infrastructure breakdown, system clean‐up, data backups, and data management
Test article design, tunnel modification design, test fixture design and setup
Technical report writing and editing
Technical drawing creation
Logistics support, such as setting up meetings, recording minutes, tracking action items, etc. Compiling/consolidating information from multiple sources at the direction of engineers
Qualifications
Must currently possess an active and transferrable DoD security clearance
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable discipline
Must have at least 3 years of pertinent experience (experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree)
Associates Degree with an additional 4 years of experience
High School Diploma with an additional 6 years of experience
Must interface and communicate well with Government customer
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be proficient in use of MS Office software
Must be dedicated to achieving high standards of quality and excellence
Preferred experience/capabilities:
Direct AEDC test support experience
Familiarity with Inventor (or similar CAD software)
Solid understanding of the specific procedures and processes of AFTC, DoDI 5000.02, and other USAF regulations
