The Controller will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Bartlett, Tennessee region. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Requirements

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Be detailed, flexible, and organized

The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

CPA or MBA preferred

Financial statement preparation experience

QuickBooks experience highly preferred

Foundational knowledge in journal entries

Adeptness in budget forecasting

Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience

Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financial Reporting

General familiarity with Prepare Financial Reports

Experience with Budget Processes

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
