Endpoint/Linux Administrator

Location: Brentwood TN

Duration: 12+ Months Contract (potential to go PERM eventually)

Note - Remote to start, but local to Brentwood to be onsite once restrictions are lifted. 2 year assignment with potential for extension/conversionThe Endpoint Administrator provides direction and strategic guidance for the overall management and health of Client's endpoint devices.There are multiple levels of responsibilities needed for our Endpoint administrator including: vendor coordination, close coordination with development and engineering teams, and overall knowledge of endpoint devices to include thin clients. The Endpoint Administrator must have a detailed understanding of Incident and Problem Management processes as a SME with the company's Service Excellence teams. This will include knowledgebase articles and participation in multiple incident or problem resolution team/meetings. Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Support small to large scale rollouts or other deployments for both hardware and software-based initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise during deployments.
  • Keep abreast of industry's best practices and technology trends to lead the with endpoint solutions.

Required Skills and Expertise:
  • Linux Administration, Ubuntu preferred
  • System Admin experience, particularly in supporting, updating and managing endpoint devices
  • Dell Wyse Management Suite
  • iGel experience
  • Ability to automate common procedures and continuously look for and execute on opportunities to improve services and teammate experiences
  • Create and maintain documentation to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Configuration Documentation, Policy Documentation, Knowledge Based Articles and Training Documentation
  • Ability to perform the following:
    • Think creatively
    • Pay close attention to details
    • Find solutions for difficult problems
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers
  • Comfortable working in a group environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Desire to work in a multi-disciplined, diverse, and technically challenging environment
  • Must have strong organizational skills along with being process driven and conversely, must drive process development and adherence.
  • Solid understanding of endpoint management technologies and processes (as listed in the JD) balanced with strong team leadership and client communications are key attributes to success in this position.

Preferred Skills and Expertise:
  • Tier 3 and 4 Support in an Enterprise Desktop Environment preferred
