Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to fill a long-term contract position at a growing Construction company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will participate in compliance including quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Requirements

BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

1-3 years of Staff Accountant experience

Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Proven knowledge of ERP systems

Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Be detailed, flexible, and organized

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

Budget forecasting experience preferred
