Role Summary: This position is the development owner (E-BTV) of the NAR local cell/module, has the responsibility to develop and evaluate the High Voltage Battery Cell/module together with the local supplier for the North American market. To ensure VW tech. spec. and quality requirement be fulfilled in the whole industrialization process, work closely with the local supplier's engineering team to achieve the SOP goal with the strong linkage to CoE Germany. Support from the region on the final release of the cell/module part for the NAR.

Role Responsibilities: NAR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Involvement in the creation of battery cell specifications
  • Creation of test catalogs to ensure the component properties and on-time approvals
  • Scouting of new cell concepts from cell suppliers
  • Benchmarking of cell concepts
  • Controlling the supplier throughout the entire cell development
  • Process-compliant procedure for implementing technical requirements
  • Conducting reviews and risk analyses
  • Presentation of component scopes in the associated project committees
  • Development and coordination of measures for component failure analyses
  • Continuous knowledge sharing with global CoE stakeholders
  • Independent planning of workshops and technical meetings with suppliers/sub-suppliers for series projects
  • Controlling of battery cell series projects with external suppliers (continuous controlling of the development supplier)
  • Preparing series approvals on time
  • Support for the revision of test specifications

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in battery cell, cell/module development and evaluation processes
  • Bachelor's Degree in the technical sciences, e.g. in physical chemistry, electrochemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable qualification required
  • Master's Degree in the technical sciences, e.g. in physical chemistry, electrochemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable qualification desired

  • Good project management skills and good knowledge of MS Office
Skills: Specialized Desired
  • German skills written and verbal are advantageous
  • 3-5 years as the cell, cell/module part owner
  • Knowledge of HV Battery system
  • Understands vehicle communication networks and be able to capture the relevant data on the bus
Work Flexibility:
  • Frequently traveling to the suppliers , ext. lab and the R&D department in Germany
  • Increased extended travel to Germany during the initial phase of the work
