Compliance Specialist - (LCS)

Position Description CGI Federal's Housing Compliance team that partners with a local public housing authority and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist in the provision of affordable housing has an opening for a Compliance Specialist (LCS). This is an opportunity to join an energetic team with a collaborative management group and work with affordable housing owners and management companies within an assigned portfolio of properties. New team members receive in-depth training to prepare them for their role. Additional training and professional development opportunities are also available, for both the affordable housing industry and general business skills.

Under the direction of the Local Services Manager (LSM) / State Contract Manager, the Compliance Specialist (LCS) is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of specified core tasks for approximately 45 multi-family housing contracts subsidized under HUD's Project Based Section 8 Housing program. Directly performs specified core tasks as part of a contract administration case management team. The Specialist works closely with property owners to ensure compliance pursuant to HUD policy. The Specialist maintains accurate and complete customer files, logs and schedules.

Your future duties and responsibilities 1. Reports to Local Services Team Lead or Local Services Manager in carrying out core task processing to monitor project compliance.2. Ensure 100% of onsite reviews are properly scheduled and performed in compliance with contractual and client requirements.3. Effectively compile and writes Management and Occupancy Review (MOR) reports detailing specific findings, criteria and corrective actions in the monitoring of project compliance in the following areas :a) Marketing and Tenant Selectionb) Leasing and Occupancyc) Rent Determination and Subsidy Requestd) Management of Maintenance Programe) Response to Safety Concernsf) Management of Tenant Relationsg) Review of Fair Housing/EEOC policies and procedures4. Timely and accurate follow-up to ensure adequate responses to close the MOR report.5. Establish and maintain good relations with owners, residents and their representatives, neighborhood groups and local governments.6. Respond fully and promptly to inquiries and dispatches from Contract Specialists, Quality Assurance personnel, Finance and Reporting personnel and Customer Contact personnel.7. Maintain complete and detailed files and provide the Manager with data and records requested in a timely manner.8. Successfully complete all required training programs within prescribed period.9. Participate in ensuring a fully functional contract administration case management system to meet 100% of the required deadlines and avoid contractual penalties.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role 1. Bachelors degree required. Significant relevant experience will be considered2. Two - five years property management, claims processing or case management preferred3. Professional, organized and effective verbal and written communication4. Mathematics, data entry, record keeping, account management5. Assisted housing programs expertise preferred but not required
