Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance)Department: TP)Facility MaintenanceShift: Core business hours are Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM.- The need to work extended hours, some weekends, and call-ins will occur.Direct Report: Unit ManagerTo perform advanced or specialized engineering duties in the Facility Maintenance Team generally focused on trouble shooting machine and equipment errors, breakdowns, and failures. Responsible for the project management of introducing or modifying machines and equipment.
Utilize advanced, professional engineering knowledge to assist in the trouble shooting, modification, and introduction of machines and equipment
Perform full-cycle project management (project specifications, RFQ, bidding contracts, consultations, and invoices)
Communicate with maintenance technicians, quality or manufacturing operators, and management regarding machine maintenance
Provide support with planned and shutdown maintenance tasks in order to keep machinery in good condition
Write maintenance reports (e.g. machinery failure, modifications) and One Point Lessons
Observe periodical and preventive maintenance plans in order to reduce machinery failure
Build a good rapport with suppliers and other manufacturers
Assign serial numbers to machine parts; place orders and keep records of purchases in the SAP system in order to keep track of stock
Prepare for audits and quality inspections
Complete supportive tasks in the Facility Maintenance Team
Perform any additional duties or extra projects as assigned by management
Required Knowledge
Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Mathematics - Knowledge of applied statistics is greatly preferred
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in continuous process improvement

Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Project Management - Excellet time management skills to successfully work on multiple projects at once. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering major preferred
Experience:
0-3 years of experience preferred; previous experience in the manufacturing industry desired
Lean manufacturing and rubber industry experience is a plus
